LOCKDOWN 3.0

How is everybody keeping at home? Lockdown for me has been incredibly hard at times. I've had SO many stress related breakdowns and emotional burnouts.

We're all human, we're all social creatures. Being confined to one space with no social interaction is damaging for our mental health. It's therefore important to stay connected with friends and to also try to do things that bring us some amount of happiness or peace. What brings you a little peace and joy throughout daily lockdown life? Is it sitting down to watch your favourite soap? Is it cooking your family a lovely meal for tea? Is it your daily exercise, or perhaps you've taken up a new hobby?

The previous time spent in lockdown I didn't do anything but lay in bed and get fat HA. (Don't worry, it hasn't been just you feeling like your having a snack food baby most days). I mean It’s very easy to sit around and do nothing. And that’s ok if some of us feel happy doing that. But It's SO important to make sure that this isn't all the time because inactivity feeds low mood. Sometimes it is hard to find the energy to do anything, whether that be having a shower or going for a walk (ME). But sitting in one place all day, day after day, avoiding doing anything productive or calling friends, it's going to make us feel worse.

You're either a "the glass is half full" kinda person, or "the glass is half empty”. An optimist or a pessimist. Some of us will see lockdown as a fantastic opportunity to get things done and be productive. OR, a lot of us will think this lockdown is totally fucking crap and give up.

Well for me personally, lockdown 3.0 I decided I was going to quit laying in bed all day and TRY find the motivation to get back on my feet. I said to myself this time that I wanted to achieve more with the time I had 'off’ and put all my energy into something that was going to make me feel good. Well, part of the secret of seeing the future optimistically is to channel

positive outcomes and be purposeful about trying to achieve whatever it is your want to achieve! So..

  1. What goals are you going to set yourself?

  2. What are you going to aim to achieve throughout lockdown?

If you fancy journalling and noting all this down, you should check out Papier. Their Wellness Journal is one of many books you can use to track your goals and achievements.

Take care out there. Anna x
